YouTube Conventions and Creator Events 2026 to 2027: Dates, Cities, Ticket Prices, and Which One Is for You

For YouTubers, events, and conventions dedicated to the platform are not just social gatherings but opportunities for growth, learning, and collaboration.

YouTube Conventions and Creator Events 2026 to 2027: Dates, Cities, Ticket Prices, and Which One Is for You

You typed youtube convention into a search box and got a wall of ticket pages. Every one of them says spots are filling up. None of them says what a trip costs or who the room is for. This page does.

The next creator conference is VidSummit, September 29 to October 1, 2026, in Dallas, at $995 a ticket. VidCon Anaheim is done for 2026 and returns July 8 to 10, 2027. TwitchCon San Diego runs November 13 to 15, 2026. Most of the rest of the old lists is for brands, invite-only, or gone.

If you cannot tell which one is for you, that is the normal state. Creators with a channel and a budget still ask whether VidSummit or another creator conference is worth the cost, and the answers depend on what the person went to get. This guide gives you the dates, the prices and those answers, so you can decide from your desk.

What this guide covers, in order:

VidSummit is next, VidCon is July 2027, and two events on the old lists are gone

Three kinds of event share one name. A creator conference is talks and networking for people who make videos. A convention is a fan floor with meet-and-greets. A brand event is where companies buy campaigns. The timeline and the table below hold every one with a published date.

VidSummit is the next big one. It runs September 29 to October 1, 2026 at the Irving Convention Center in Dallas. The ticket page lists $995, and the official hotel block starts at $135 a night. The refund window that only took $199 off closed on May 31, 2026, so read the terms before you buy.

VidCon Anaheim is next July. The 2026 edition ran June 25 to 27 and the official site now sells July 8 to 10, 2027 at the Anaheim Convention Center. The tickets page lists a single day at $109 and nothing yet for the multi-day creator and pro passes. The last ladder a fan posted was $145, $195 and $849 for four days on the fan, creator and industry tracks, and a $99 Black Friday deal ran for 2026. Wait for the Black Friday window if you can.

Two names on the old lists are gone or dark. Playlist Live in Orlando was cancelled in May 2023 and has not come back. Grow With Video Live has a waitlist page and no 2026 date; its last confirmed run was April 24 to 26, 2024 in Las Vegas. Cross both off until a date appears.

VidSummit 2027 is not announced. Its site shows no 2027 date or price as of this review, and neither do TubeFest or Summer Game Fest. Where the table shows a 2026 figure, it is the last published one, with the year beside it. Budget from that number and check the linked page before you book.

VidSummit is a working conference and VidCon is a fan convention with a creator floor

Same name on the search page, different rooms. VidSummit is three days of sessions and hallways for people who make videos for a living. VidCon is a festival for about 55,000 people, most of them fans, with a creator floor upstairs.

VidSummit against VidCon on six lines A two column grid. Ticket: VidSummit $995, one type; VidCon $109 a day, multi-day passes not yet priced for 2027. Days: both three. Who is in the room: VidSummit creators with a channel and the people who sell to them; VidCon about 55,000 people, mostly fans and families. Passes: VidSummit one ticket for everything; VidCon three tracks, fan, creator and pro. Meet-and-greets: VidSummit none, you meet people in the hallway; VidCon sign-up lists for featured creators. What people came home with: VidSummit contacts who do the same work; VidCon a friend or two if they skipped the panels. Prices and dates from the two official sites; the crowd size and the pass advice are from the threads linked in this section. The last row is what creators in those threads say they came home with, not a promise. Vimerse diagram.

VidSummit is where the working creators are. A creator who vlogged the 2025 event found that "The networking was truly the highlight" and put the panels second. A creator with 1.8 million subscribers lists VidSummit, TubeFest and VidCon among the things that changed the game, because you meet the people who get it. Someone with a dying channel was told to go for the big channels sharing what works. Go there to meet peers, not to be discovered.

VidCon is a fan festival first. A creator asking why people say VidCon has gone downhill was told "the best time I've ever had is just ignoring most of the panels entirely and engaging in conversation" with other creators. The creator pass buys the second floor, where the panels and the other creators are. A parent whose son has 100,000 subscribers says he met one of his best creator friends there, and also that some sessions he picked were cancelled. Treat the schedule as a guess and the floor as the product.

On the creator pass, the forums disagree. One camp says it is not worth the extra money unless you are serious about making videos. The other says the industry pass is the one to skip unless you are already famous or a sponsor. We side with the second camp. If you make videos, the creator pass is the whole reason to be in Anaheim, and the pro pass is for the people who want to buy from you.

Old-timers say VidSummit is the creator one. A gaming creator asking about conventions was pointed at VidSummit because it is not a fan event. A creator invited to a local YouTube meetup was told the crowd they wanted would be at VidSummit, which is paid but full of the right people. If you can only afford one, and you have a channel, that one is VidSummit.

The ticket is the smallest line on the bill

The pass is a fifth of the trip. A trip is the pass, the flight, the hotel, and three days of food, rides and merch. The numbers below are what attendees posted, not an estimate from a ticket page.

What one TwitchCon San Diego trip costs, from numbers attendees posted Four horizontal bars on one dollar scale. Three day pass with the party, $329. Hotel for four nights, $680. Food, transport and merch, $500. Flights, a dashed empty bar, because nobody in the threads posted a fare. A note says the pass is 22 percent of the three known lines, which total $1,509 before the flight. 3-day pass with the party $329 Hotel 4 nights $680 Food, rides, merch three days $500 Flights your fare not posted; add your own The pass is 22% of the three known lines. Those total $1,509 before you have booked a flight.
Real figures from the two TwitchCon threads linked beside this figure: a pass with the party at about $329, a hotel at about $680 for four nights, and $500 for everything else. Nobody posted a fare, so the flight bar is empty on purpose. The lesson is the proportion, and it holds at VidSummit and VidCon too. Vimerse diagram.

One TwitchCon trip, all in. An attendee costing the trip put the three-day pass with the party at about $329, the hotel at up to $250 a night, and $500 for everything else. Another booked four nights for about $680 and noted $90 rooms within driving distance. A third split a San Diego trip with a friend and still spent $5,000 to $6,000 each, which is what happens when the flight is long and the hotel is on the water. Book the room a mile out and the pass stops being the number that matters.

VidCon comes out near $2,000 a person. A fan priced the weekend at over $2,000 with flight, hotel and a $100 pass. Another expected about $2,500 between travel, hotel and food. A family of three listed $2,000 for flights, $700 for tickets and $1,500 for hotel and transport, which is $1,400 a head. Plan on $2,000 and be pleased if it is less.

VidSummit is the same shape with a bigger pass. The ticket is $995 and the hotel block starts at $135 a night, so three nights and a flight land near $2,000. A podcaster who went to Podcast Movement in Dallas found the discounted hotel rate was $249 a night and said regular podcasters need a cheaper venue. If you are a business, the trip is a write-off, travel and hotel included. Keep the receipts in one folder.

The replays cost a fifth of the ticket. VidSummit sells lifetime replay access for $199, and a creator who could not afford the 2022 event built a free reading list from the speakers' own podcasts. Another posted their top five learnings within a week of getting home. If you want the information, buy the replays. If you want the people, buy the flight.

Pick the event by who you need to meet, not by the biggest name

The room decides the event. Every event is a room full of one kind of person. Pick the kind you need to meet, and the event picks itself.

Which creator event fits which creator Six rows. A YouTube channel you want to grow and about $2,000 to spend: VidSummit. A streamer, or your community lives on Twitch: TwitchCon. A podcaster who sells to other podcasters: Podcast Movement; a hobby podcaster should skip it. An agency, or you sell to brands: Creator Economy Live. Under 18, going with your kids, or going to meet creators you watch: VidCon, one day. Not sure yet, or no budget: a YouTube Creator Collective meetup or a local creator meetup, free. You are Go to a YouTube channel you want to grow, with about $2,000 to spend VidSummit a streamer, or your community lives on Twitch TwitchCon a podcaster who sells to other podcasters (a hobby show: skip it) Podcast Movement an agency, or you sell campaigns to brands Creator Economy Live under 18, with your kids, or going to meet creators you watch VidCon, one day not sure yet, or no budget for a flight and a hotel a Creator Collective or local meetup, free One event a year is plenty. Pick the room, then pick the date.
Our fork, built from what each event says it is for and what attendees in the linked threads said they got. The two orange rows are where a creator with a channel should start: the paid one if the budget is there, the free one if it is not. Vimerse diagram.

A channel and a budget means VidSummit. The people in the room do the same work you do. The talks are high level stuff from big channels, and the networking is what people come home talking about. Book it if you can name ten people you want to meet.

Streamers go to TwitchCon. Smaller streamers who went say it was absolutely worth it for the networking, and one who is not a partner says it is still fun for the arcades and live music. The other view is that it is brands pushing games and not worth paying for. It is a good trip and a poor investment unless your community is there, so go for the people, not the business.

Podcasters, check who is buying. Podcast conferences have the most immediate value if you sell a product or service to other podcasters. A hobby podcaster who went to Denver found little to no value. At $199 for the New York edition the ticket is cheap; the hotel is not.

Creator Economy Live is for the other side of the table. Its own page calls it the influencer marketing event for brands and lets the first 500 brands in free. That makes it the right room if you run an agency or sell campaigns, and the wrong one if you are looking for peers. CEX in Minneapolis is for creators running a content business, and SXSW is worth its badge only if your work reaches past video.

Under 18, or with your kids, means VidCon for a day. A parent asked whether one day or three made sense for a twelve-year-old, and the useful answer was to buy the three-day pass only for the meet-and-greet sign-up. Another parent called it a waste of money after their child saw creators only from afar. Go for one day, sign up for the meet-and-greets on time, and eat outside the hall.

The hallway beats the sessions, and meet-and-greets are a sign-up race

The sessions are the smallest part of the value. What you are paying for is three days in a building with the people you want to know. The sessions get posted online. The conversations do not.

What to do before, during and after a creator event, on a schedule A vertical list of five steps. Four weeks before: message ten people by name. Ticket day: sign up for meet-and-greets the day the link arrives. Each morning: pick two sessions and skip the rest. Each evening: the lobby and the meetups. The week after: one follow-up each, with a specific ask. Most of the value is booked before you land and collected after you leave 4 weeks before message ten people by name Ticket day meet-and-greet sign-up, the day the link lands Each morning two sessions, then skip the rest Each evening the lobby and the meetups Week after one follow-up each, with a specific ask The sessions get posted online within a week. The conversations do not.
The schedule is ours; each step is what an attendee in the linked threads said worked, or what the event's own sign-up rules force. The black point is the only one that happens inside a session room. Vimerse diagram.

Book the conversations before you land. A founder back from a conference found the system that worked was a connection and a value touchpoint three to four weeks before, so the event became the follow-up. Smaller YouTubers say attending events in their space is how they met others of their size. Write ten names and message each one a month out.

Skip the networking lounge, work the lobby. A podcaster who has been to dozens of conferences says to skip the paid networking upgrade, because "The real networking happens in the lobby, after" the sessions end. The same is true of VidCon's creator floor and of VidSummit's hallways. Pick two sessions a day and give the rest of the day to people.

Meet-and-greets are a sign-up race. At VidCon the sign-up link goes out after you buy and spots are first come. Single-day passes are shut out of them, and popular creators fill within hours. A long-time attendee warns to "do NOT expect to get any one-on-one interaction with your favorite creators" because the convention has grown too big for it. Sign up the day the link lands, and if you are a creator, apply to be a featured one rather than queue for one.

Bring something publishable home. A travel creator came back from a VidCon session with lessons on sponsorships and turned them into a post. A creator on a small panel got more from the people who stayed after than from the panel itself. Book one collaboration, one interview or one joint video before you leave the building.

YouTube's own events are invite-only, and the free ones are local

YouTube runs its own events, and you cannot buy a ticket. The Creator Summit, Made On YouTube and the local Creator Collective meetups are all by invite. The free ones are the local ones.

Creator Collective meetups are the free test. YouTube invites creators to local meetups by email, with an RSVP form and a room for a few hours. A creator invited to one in a big city was told to expect a wide range of channel sizes, and found it a good networking event. One in Sioux Falls ran on April 15, 2026 with food and no pressure. If the invite comes, go; it costs an evening and tells you whether the people are the value.

Made On YouTube is a product launch, not a meetup. It runs September 23, 2026 in New York and is where YouTube announces tools. The Creator Summit is invite-only for top creators. Watch the stream, read the recap, and do not plan a trip around either.

Outside the US, the calendar is thin. A creator asking for a YouTube conference in the EU got no clean answer. The nearest is TubeFest in Birmingham, which ran April 23 to 24, 2026 at £297 early bird and has not posted 2027 dates. A London creator meetup was a café at 7pm and cost a coffee. Start with the coffee.

CreatorCon is several events sharing a name. There is one in Covington, Kentucky for brands and creators, one in Detroit, and one run by a foundation. None is the national creator conference the name suggests. Check the city and the organiser before you book a flight.

Things to stop doing

  • Buying on the day the ticket page says spots are filling up. VidCon tickets were still on sale in June.
  • Going to a brand event to meet creators. Creator Economy Live is for the buyers.
  • Booking the official hotel block without pricing a room a mile away.
  • Attending every session. They are online within a week.
  • Queuing for a meet-and-greet as a creator. Apply to be a featured one instead.
  • Flying out with nothing edited. The conference week is the one your schedule slips.

A planning checklist, by month

  • Four months out: pick one event from the fork above. One a year is plenty.
  • Three months out: buy the pass in an early-bird or Black Friday window, and book the flight.
  • Two months out: book a room a mile from the venue, not the block.
  • One month out: write ten names and message each one. Sign up for meet-and-greets the day the link lands.
  • Two weeks out: send your editor the footage for three videos, so they publish while you are away.
  • The week of: two sessions a day, the lobby every evening, one thing booked before you leave.
  • The week after: one follow-up per person, with a specific ask. Then do one thing differently in the next video, so you can tell what the trip changed.

The short version

  • VidSummit: September 29 to October 1, 2026, Dallas, $995. The creator conference.
  • VidCon Anaheim: July 8 to 10, 2027, single day $109. A fan festival with a creator floor.
  • TwitchCon San Diego: November 13 to 15, 2026, $249 to $259 for three days.
  • Podcast Movement: September 17 to 18, 2026, New York, $199. Worth it if you sell to podcasters.
  • Creator Economy Live: January 27 to 28, 2027, Las Vegas, and July 28 in New York. For brands.
  • SXSW March 15 to 21, 2027, Austin; CEX April 19 to 21, 2027, Minneapolis. Only if your work reaches past video.
  • Playlist Live is gone. Grow With Video Live has no 2026 date. VidSummit 2027 is not announced.
  • The pass is about a fifth of the trip. Plan on $2,000 for VidSummit or VidCon.
  • Message ten people a month out, skip most sessions, work the lobby, follow up within a week.
  • Bank three videos before you fly.

Banking three videos before a trip is the step most creators skip, because the edit is the part that does not fit around packing. That is the gap we fill: your first video is free, up to four editing hours, and the rest of the batch is $14 an editing hour.
